Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: April 14, 2026
MacSharing exists to make file sharing easy and fast. To keep it that way for everyone, there are some ground rules.
1. Prohibited content
You must not upload, share, or distribute:
- Malware or harmful software — viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any code designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems
- Illegal content — anything that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, reported to authorities immediately
- Copyright-infringing content — files you don’t have the right to share
- Spam or phishing material — deceptive content designed to trick or mislead recipients
2. Prohibited activities
You must not:
- Abuse the free tier by creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits
- Use automated tools to bulk-upload files without authorization
- Attempt to circumvent file size limits, rate limits, or other restrictions
- Interfere with the service’s infrastructure or other users’ experience
- Use MacSharing as a general-purpose CDN, backup service, or file hosting platform
3. Storage and file limits
- Free tier: up to 500 MB per file
- Pro tier: up to 5 GB per file, analytics, branding, and file requests
These limits exist to keep the service fast and affordable for everyone. Attempting to bypass them may result in account suspension.
4. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content shared through MacSharing infringes on your copyright, please send a DMCA takedown notice to abuse@macsharing.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work
- The URL of the infringing share link
- Your contact information
- A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will respond to valid DMCA notices promptly and remove infringing content.
5. Enforcement
We handle violations progressively:
- Warning — for first-time or minor violations, we’ll reach out and ask you to fix the issue
- Suspension — for repeated or serious violations, your account may be temporarily suspended
- Termination — for severe violations (malware, CSAM, persistent abuse), your account will be permanently terminated and content removed
For CSAM or content that poses an immediate safety risk, we skip straight to termination and report to the appropriate authorities.
