Terms of Service

Effective date: April 14, 2026

1. What MacSharing is

MacSharing is a file-sharing service for macOS. You drag a file, shake to share, and get a link anyone can open—no app required on the receiving end.

2. Your account

When you first launch MacSharing, you receive a license key. This key is your identity on the service. Keep it safe—we can’t recover it if you lose it.

We offer a free tier (up to 500 MB per file) and a Pro tier (up to 5 GB per file, analytics, branding, file requests, and more). You can use MacSharing for free, forever, with no strings attached.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to use MacSharing only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you must not:

You are responsible for everything shared through your license key.

4. Your files, your property

You retain full ownership of every file you upload. We claim no rights over your content. We don’t license, sub-license, or transfer your files to anyone.

5. Privacy & your files

We do not access, scan, read, or analyze the contents of your files. Your files are never used for AI training or any other purpose beyond delivering them to your intended recipients. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Data retention

Files are stored for the expiry period you set when sharing. After that period, files are permanently deleted from our servers. We do not keep backups of expired files.

7. Payments

Pro subscriptions are handled through LemonSqueezy. You can cancel your subscription at any time—you’ll keep Pro features until the end of your billing period. We don’t store your payment details; LemonSqueezy handles all payment processing.

8. Limitation of liability

MacSharing is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the service reliable and your files safe, but we can’t guarantee 100% uptime or zero data loss. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, particularly for abuse, distribution of prohibited content, or activity that harms other users or the service. We’ll try to give you notice first, unless the violation is severe.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll notify you via email (if you’ve provided one) or through the app. Continued use of MacSharing after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
